The Metropolitan Police acted swiftly to resolve the situation according to sources from the UK Foreign Office said, and they strongly condemned the incident.
Britain claimed that the police had immediately reacted to an incident that involved a breach in security for the minister of external affairs S Jaishankar happened in London as well as warning “any attempt to intimidate and threaten” is not acceptable.
Pro-Khalistani protesters tried to break barricades and others chanted anti-India slogans. Mr. Jaishankar was seen leaving Chatham House after an interactive session at the institute, which is home of the Royal Institute of International Affairs on Wednesday.

India has stated that it is expecting the government of the host country to fulfill their obligations as a diplomat in these instances and has condemned it for the “misuse of democratic freedoms” by the opposition in reference to Khalistanis.
“We have seen the footage of a breach of security during the visit of the external affairs minister to the UK,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told. “We condemn the provocative activities of this small group of separatists and extremists.”
“We deplore the misuse of democratic freedoms by such elements. We expect the host government in such cases to fully live up to their diplomatic obligations,” Mr. Jaiswal added.
Social media videos showed a small number of Khalistani protesters waving white flags, shouting and chanting at India and Mr. Jaishankar. The foreign minister was on the opposite part of the highway.
When Mr Jaishankar was getting ready to leave, a tall person attempted to break through the police cordon and sprint towards the motorcade of Mr Jaishankar. The man was in the middle of the motorcade, and attempted to stop it.
The man was quickly removed by police officers.
It wasn’t the only incident of security breaches caused by Khalistani elements. In the month of March, 2023, Khalistani forces threw off the national flag in the Indian High Commission in London which sparked a furious reaction from India.
After the incident India called the highest-ranking British diplomat to Delhi in a demand for an explanation of the “absence of security” at the post.
India has been requesting the UK to initiate action to stop Khalistani elements operating on British land.
